Harriet Sperling’s arrival into the Royal Family highlights shared interests and potential support for the Princess of Wales
Harriet Sperling, a 45-year-old paediatric nurse, married Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne, in a private ceremony at All Saint's Church in Gloucestershire.
The wedding was attended by senior members of the Royal Family, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie with their husbands, as well as Peter's sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike.The bride wore a white gown with a tiara, and the three bridesmaids were the couple's daughters, Georgina, Isla, and Savannah.Despite intermittent rain, hundreds of local well-wishers cheered the bride upon her arrival.Notably absent was Prince Harry, who has not been in contact with Peter for several years, as well as former Prince Andrew.The event highlighted the couple's family ties and connections, including Harriet’s relation to the Duke of Gloucester.Peter, 19th in line to the throne, proposed in August 2025 with a ring honouring his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The wedding reflected a blend of tradition, faith, and family, while also avoiding the controversies that had marked Peter’s previous wedding, when photographs were sold to Hello!magazine without full family consent.The ceremony offered a glimpse into royal life, providing a personal and intimate celebration amidst the public fascination with the family.
