Following the race, Adam reflected candidly on his recent performances, admitting that he has felt 'off' throughout the competition and that the past two years have been difficult as he has attempted to regain his best form.He explained that his focus now is on rediscovering enjoyment in training rather than being overly critical of himself.He also acknowledged the many highs and lows of his career, saying he had previously lost his sense of purpose before working to rebuild it.The bronze medal followed another third-place finish in the 100m breaststroke, after which Adam became emotional during a television interview.

He spoke openly about the impact of an ongoing family estrangement, saying personal difficulties had affected him, although he stressed that the situation was not of his own making.Instead of referring to his family as a support network, he praised Holly, his coach and close friends for helping him through a challenging period.Adam also emphasised that becoming a father has changed his perspective, saying that returning home to his family matters more than winning medals.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on gold, he insisted he remains determined to improve and is already looking ahead to future competitions, including the upcoming European Championships.
