The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has accused the personal doctor of former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Rabiu Musa El-Rufai of abusing a court-ordered hospital visit for non-medical activities.

The commission alleges that the doctor, along with political associates, used the private consultation at Abuja’s National Hospital to engage in undisclosed meetings, violating judicial directives.

Evidence includes Facebook posts showing El-Rufai and his aides in the company of the doctor, which the ICPC claims proves the visit was repurposed for activities outside the approved scope.The doctor has been taken into custody for further investigation over alleged false statements.El-Rufai faces multiple criminal charges including abuse of office and procurement fraud, with the ICPC accusing him of awarding an N8.68 billion CCTV contract to an unqualified firm.

The case highlights tensions between political figures and anti-graft agencies, as El-Rufai’s camp denies wrongdoing and accuses authorities of using legal proceedings to suppress his influence.The ICPC maintains it will uphold the law while condemning any abuse of its processes.
