The Senate impeachment court presiding officer, Francis 'Chiz' Escudero, warned the defense and prosecution teams of Vice President Sara Duterte to refrain from making side remarks during the ongoing trial.

This came after lawyer Mark Vinluan questioned the National Bureau of Investigation's (NBI) investigation into Duterte's alleged threats against President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.

During cross-examination, Vinluan challenged the NBI's conclusions without direct evidence, prompting private prosecutor Amando Virgil Ligutan to object and demand disciplinary action.

Escudero emphasized that side remarks would be stricken from records to maintain judicial decorum, stressing that the court would not tolerate showmanship.The trial continues with witness testimony on Article IV, which alleges grave threats against Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.The case highlights tensions within the impeachment process as legal teams navigate procedural rules while addressing serious allegations.
