India has categorically rejected Pakistan's foreign minister Ishaq Dar's remarks on Kashmir and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty during an ASEAN-related meeting in the Philippines.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal accused Pakistan of using the multilateral forum to spread falsehoods and divert attention from its record of sponsoring cross-border terrorism.India emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India, and Pakistan has no authority to comment on these issues.

The ministry stated that the Indus Waters Treaty remains in abeyance due to Pakistan's continued support for terrorism, including the 2025 Pahalgam attack.

Jaiswal condemned Pakistan's practice of spreading state-sponsored disinformation, often framed in religious terms, to deflect from its internal crises and role as a safe haven for terrorists.India urged Pakistan to dismantle its terrorism infrastructure and address its own issues instead of blaming neighbors.

Dar, who also serves as Pakistan's deputy prime minister, argued that the Kashmir issue is central to South Asian instability and called for a peaceful resolution aligned with UN principles.However, India criticized Pakistan's unilateral decision to suspend the treaty as a violation of international obligations.
