Uttar Pradesh saw the steepest rise, with deaths increasing from 24,118 in 2024 to 27,550 in 2025, followed by Bihar (9,347 to 10,397) and Maharashtra (15,715 to 16,756).Gujarat also reported a significant increase.However, Punjab recorded the sharpest decline, with fatalities dropping from 4,759 in 2024 to 3,062 in 2025.Other states like Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telangana, and Delhi also saw reductions.

The government acknowledged cybersecurity vulnerabilities in electric three-wheelers (e-rickshaws), citing CERT-In reports that highlight risks of remote battery shutdown via mobile apps.Draft rules for cybersecurity and software updates for vehicles were notified, aligning with UN regulations.
