PM Shehbaz and Chinese Premier Li Qiang discuss Middle East peace and strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation
According to the Foreign Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is scheduled to visit Washington on Friday where he will hold a meeting with US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio.The announcement was made on Thursday and reported by Reuters.
The meeting is expected to focus on reviewing Pakistan–United States bilateral relations as well as exchanging views on important regional and global developments of mutual interest.The Foreign Office stated that both sides will also discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in key priority sectors.
Another important aspect of the visit includes Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
The statement further highlighted that Islamabad is keen on maintaining and deepening its longstanding and broad-based partnership with the United States.
The visit comes at a time when Pakistan is reportedly attempting to engage in diplomatic efforts related to broader regional tensions, including efforts aimed at exploring pathways for peace in the context of the US-Israel and Iran situation.
Officials suggest that such high-level engagements reflect Islamabad’s continued emphasis on diplomacy and constructive engagement with global powers.After completing his engagements in Washington, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is expected to return to Islamabad later on the same day.
The visit is being viewed as part of ongoing diplomatic outreach between Pakistan and the United States to maintain dialogue on political, security, and economic cooperation while addressing regional stability concerns.
