Darren Till wins BKFC debut with one-punch knockout over Aaron Chalmers
Jason Feger delivered a dominant performance on Saturday night, leading every lap to capture the MARS Late Model Championship Series feature at Red Hill Speedway in Sumner, Illinois.
The 30-lap main event, part of the fourth annual Red Hill Rumble, awarded Feger a $5,000 payday and marked his second MARS victory of the 2026 season and the 38th of his career with the series.Feger, who also set the fastest qualifying time with a track record lap of 14.553 seconds, started from the pole and never relinquished control of the race.He ultimately crossed the finish line 1.739 seconds ahead of rookie Dylan Thornton, who mounted a late charge but could not close the gap in the closing laps.Points leader Ryan Unzicker finished third after slipping behind Thornton on lap 17, while Brian Shirley maintained a steady run in fourth.Mitch McGrath rounded out the top five, earning his best career MARS series result.The event featured 18 entries, with 14 cars finishing the full distance.The race’s only caution came on the opening lap when Keatin Lyons spun, briefly slowing the field before a long green-flag run to the finish.
Tanner English overcame an early setback after a flat tire prior to the start and recovered to finish ninth, while Jeffrey Ledford improved several positions to complete the top ten.The feature lasted just under 20 minutes under clear skies and 73-degree conditions.The next stop for the MARS series is scheduled for July 17 at Farmer City Raceway in Illinois, with another $5,000 prize on the line.
