Justin Vernon performs Bob Dylan covers and his own material at Eaux Claires Festival

Justin Vernon, the Bon Iver musician, delivered a full set of Bob Dylan covers during his performance at the Eaux Claires Festival. The set featured 15 songs spanning Dylan’s career, including classics like 'Not Dark Yet', 'Tangled Up In Blue', and 'Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door'.

Vernon collaborated with a band of friends and artists such as JT Bates, Sean Carey, and Phil Cook, who contributed vocals and instrumentation to various tracks. The performance was part of the previously announced 'Bon Dylan' project, which aimed to showcase songs from every era of Dylan’s catalogue.Earlier in the day, Vernon also performed an unannounced set of Bon Iver material, replacing Kevin Morby’s scheduled appearance. This surprise set included covers of Morby’s work and unreleased tracks like 'Room To Spare', a tribute to John Prine.

The event highlighted Vernon’s versatility as both a Dylan interpreter and a Bon Iver artist, marking his first full set of original material since 2023.

Eaux Claires, co-founded by Vernon and Aaron Dessner of The National, is known for fostering unique musical collaborations and experimental performances.
