Kanye West cleared to perform in the Netherlands despite previous European show cancellations

Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, has had two of his concerts in the Netherlands confirmed despite widespread cancellations of his European shows following his controversial anti-Semitic remarks. The rapper released his latest album, 'Bully', in March and intended to tour Europe in support of it.However, several planned appearances, including headlining London’s Wireless Festival, were met with significant backlash.

The UK Home Office ultimately denied him entry, and multiple European countries, such as Switzerland, Poland, and France, also cancelled his performances. In contrast, Dutch authorities have cleared Ye to perform, citing no legal grounds to block his entry.Deputy Prime Minister Bart van den Brink stated that past statements do not constitute a valid reason to deny him entry at this moment. His two Dutch shows are scheduled at Arnhem’s GelreDome on 6 and 8 June, the latter coinciding with his 49th birthday.

Ye has previously issued apologies for his remarks, though controversies persist, including a brief period in which he retracted apologies and made further inflammatory statements. His European tour, starting in the Netherlands, continues amid mixed public reception and legal scrutiny over past antisemitic behaviour.
