The fourth edition of the Kaptagat Cycling Challenge has attracted a record 130 cyclists, marking a 30% increase in participation.The event, held in Elgeyo Marakwet County, combines elite competition with environmental conservation efforts.

Riders compete across various categories, including elite, para-cycling, and junior, over an 80-kilometre course starting and ending at Kaptagat Farm Resort.The event features a KSh 4 million prize purse, with top prizes reaching KSh 200,000.National Treasury Principal Secretary Dr.

Race Director Ciarán Fitzpatrick noted that every registration contributes to forest restoration and tree planting, creating a 'win-win' for cyclists, the environment, and communities.

The challenge is part of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme, linking sport, conservation, and livelihoods to support Kenya's environmental goals.
