A local court in Karachi has granted a two-day physical remand of a 63-year-old man accused of brutally killing his wife during a domestic dispute.The suspect, identified as Asghar Ali, was presented before the Judicial Magistrate (West), where police requested his custody for further investigation.The court approved the request and handed him over to police for two days.According to police officials, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime.He is said to have used an iron rod to repeatedly strike his wife inside their home located in Orangi Town, Karachi.The incident reportedly took place within the jurisdiction of Pakka Qila police station in Sector 11.5, Ghaziabad area.After committing the act, the suspect locked the house and later went to the police station, where he surrendered himself voluntarily.Police further stated that the murder weapon has already been recovered from the scene.The case has been registered on the complaint of the state at Pakistan Bazaar police station.Authorities also mentioned that the suspect’s previous criminal record is still under verification as part of ongoing investigations.The victim, identified as 58-year-old Asma Begum, was the mother of four children.
Following the incident, police reached the residence on the suspect’s identification, recovered the body, and shifted it to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances and motive behind the incident, which has shocked the local community in Orangi Town.
