Kenya Weather Forecast: Rainfall Expected in Nairobi and Several Counties Over Next 24 Hours

The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting rainfall in Nairobi and several other counties over the next 24 hours.The rain is expected to start at 9pm on Sunday, July 19, with intermittent cool and cloudy conditions in Embu, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Laikipia, Meru, Murang’a, Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Machakos, Kajiado, and Makueni.

The forecast, released on July 18, also covers Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Kisumu, Siaya, Kisii, Migori, Homa Bay, Nakuru, Narok, Kajiado, Kericho, Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia, Busia, Bungoma, Bomet, Nyamira, and other counties.

The department warns of strong southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots in Marsabit, Isiolo, Mandera, Garissa, Wajir, Tana River, Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kitui.Nairobi temperatures will range between 12°C and 25°C, with partly cloudy skies at night and sunny intervals in the afternoon.Kisumu and Mombasa will experience showers and thunderstorms.Residents in affected areas are urged to stay alert, especially in regions prone to heavy rainfall and strong winds.The forecast highlights the need for preparedness and awareness to mitigate potential impacts of the weather changes.
