Kanyari reveals daughter Sky Victor earns KSh 500,000 monthly from advertising work in maize milling company
US-based Kenyan nurse Judy has revealed her intention to relocate back to Africa after spending several years working in the United States.Having moved to the US around 2022 in search of better opportunities and higher pay, she initially worked in a reputable hospital in Los Angeles and later documented her journey of settling in and building her nursing career.
Despite achieving professional stability and earning a good income, Judy shared that life in America had become emotionally and physically draining for her, mainly due to living alone and being separated from her husband and family. In a recent video, she explained that she often returned home to an empty house after long shifts, which affected her mental and emotional wellbeing. She expressed that video calls were not enough to replace physical companionship and that she deeply missed being close to her husband.
Judy stated that she plans to relocate to Tanzania, where her husband is based, and transition into a stay-at-home mum, saying she wants to prioritise family life over career independence at this stage.
She also noted that her husband had received a promotion at work, improving their financial stability, which would allow her to step back from full-time employment comfortably.
While she previously encouraged other nurses to seek opportunities abroad, she now emphasises the importance of emotional wellbeing and family presence. Her decision has sparked conversations online about migration, work-life balance, and the sacrifices many professionals make when working abroad.
