Ahmed Usman Ododo, Kogi State governor, has reiterated his administration’s strict no-ransom policy after security forces successfully rescued four NECO candidates kidnapped from an examination centre in Dekina.

The governor praised the coordinated efforts of security agencies, calling the operation a testament to inter-agency collaboration in combating insecurity.

He emphasized that his government will never negotiate with kidnappers or pay ransoms, stating, 'They may come into our state, but they will not return to where they came from.' Ododo also commended President Bola Tinubu for supporting security operations and assured him Kogi State would not disappoint.However, he ordered an investigation into why the NECO exam was held at an abandoned school, citing security concerns.The governor urged residents to stay calm, assuring them kidnappers would be arrested.The incident highlights ongoing challenges in ensuring exam security and public safety in the region.
