The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has finalized the 2026/2027 placement cycle, securing spots for 293,869 students in universities and tertiary institutions.Of these, 202,133 secured degree programs, while 8,915 university-qualified candidates opted for TVET courses instead.The placement exercise covered universities, KMTC, TVETs, teacher training colleges, and Kenya Utalii College.Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba highlighted the significant growth in placements since 2014, when only 72,338 students were placed.This year's results reflect expanded opportunities in higher education, with 327,157 vacancies approved across public and private institutions.The shift towards TVET courses indicates growing confidence in skills-based training aligned with job market demands.Students will receive admission letters via SMS and the KUCCPS portal using their KCSE index numbers.
