The Lagos State Government has convicted 16 individuals for illegal waste disposal and related sanitation offences.The offenders were arraigned before the Oshodi Special Offences and Mobile Court on July 6, 2026, and each received a four-month sentence for charges like dumping waste in unauthorized locations, failing to use assigned Private Sector Participants (PSPs), and breaching environmental laws.

LAWMA's enforcement team arrested the offenders during surveillance operations at key locations like Gbagada Expressway and Oworonsoki after catching them disposing waste on road medians and drainage channels.LAWMA Managing Director Dr.
