Lagos Police Command has started a serious search for the killers of Toba Ajiboye, the Organising Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), who was shot dead on the Ikorodu road.Ajiboye was returning home from his childhood neighborhood in Fadeyi when his vehicle was intercepted by gunmen.The attackers fired multiple shots at his white car, leaving bullet holes on the windscreen and other parts.Medical experts confirmed his death at St.Nicholas Hospital, but there was confusion when supporters blocked police from accessing the hospital to recover his body.Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said security has been deployed to prevent lawlessness.NURTW Chairman Mustapha Adekunle (Sego) expressed deep grief, calling Ajiboye a loyal ally and pillar of their movement.The incident has sparked concerns about safety for union leaders and highlights ongoing tensions in Lagos.Investigators are working to identify the perpetrators, but no arrests have been made yet.The attack underscores the risks faced by public figures in the state.
