A Lahore sessions court has issued a notice to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) regarding a petition seeking the registration of a case against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for alleged derogatory remarks about security personnel.

The petition, filed by Mohammad Waqar, alleges that Fazl's statements during a public rally in Kasur were insensitive and caused distress to the families of martyrs.The court directed the NCCIA to respond by August 17.

Fazl's remarks, which compared soldiers' martyrdom to salary compensation, drew criticism from ministers, including Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, who condemned the comments as unethical and against Islamic teachings.

The case highlights tensions between political figures and security personnel, with legal action being sought to address perceived insensitivity towards national sacrifices.
