The Linda Mwananchi faction has pulled out of its planned July 12 rally in Ol Kalou, shifting to Nyahururu Town.The decision comes after alleging a coordinated effort by the IEBC and the ruling administration to provoke violence and justify postponing the July 16 by-election.

The group claims plainclothes police and hired gangs from Kiambu, Murang'a, and Nakuru were deployed to attack their convoy, creating a pretext for a state of emergency.By canceling the rally, Linda Mwananchi aims to deny the state an excuse to delay the vote, keeping the contest between DCP and UDA on track.Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), warned the faction to stay out of local politics, citing voter confusion.

The by-election, triggered by the death of David Kiaraho, has become a key battleground between Ruto's UDA and Gachagua's DCP, mirroring national political tensions.
