Liverpool's The Jacaranda venue temporarily renamed The Maccaranda in collaboration with Paul McCartney

The historic Liverpool music venue The Jacaranda has temporarily changed its name to The Maccaranda as part of a collaboration with Sir Paul McCartney. The venue, which opened in 1958 by The Beatles’ first manager Allan Williams, played a significant role in the early career of the band.

The Beatles used it as a rehearsal space in the late 1950s, wrote early songs there such as ‘One After 909’, and auditioned drummer Pete Best on the premises. It was also where they first connected with Ringo Starr and Brian Epstein. The name change celebrates the upcoming release of McCartney’s new solo album ‘The Boys Of Dungeon Lane’ on 29 May 2026.The venue encouraged visitors to try the Maccarita, a special cocktail inspired by the former Beatle.Social media posts confirmed the temporary rebranding, with images showing the new signage on Slater Street.

This event ties into McCartney’s recent promotional activities, including appearances on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he performed Beatles classics. The album features a duet with Ringo Starr on the track ‘Home To Us’, reflecting on their shared Liverpool roots. The Jacaranda has a continued connection to The Beatles, having hosted an emotional listening party for ‘Now And Then’ in 2023.

This promotional tie-in highlights the enduring legacy of the Fab Four in their hometown and the vibrant music scene that persists in Liverpool today. The initiative has generated excitement among fans, blending nostalgia with contemporary celebration of McCartney’s latest work.
