A 55-year-old woman from Piñon Hills, California, was found dead in a desert area near her home on June 30 after being reported missing since May 25.San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene following a report of a deceased person discovered by an individual.Authorities identified the victim as Loretta Pilitsis, who had left her residence on foot and was last seen near her home.An extensive search involving K-9 teams and aerial assets was conducted initially but failed to locate her.The cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
