Alleged criminal cartel figure Vusimusi ‘Cat’ Matlala has been formally subpoenaed to appear before the Madlanga Commission, which is investigating serious allegations of corruption linked to South African Police Service (SAPS) procurement processes.According to commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels, Matlala has been instructed to testify on Tuesday at 11:59 am.The commission has not disclosed extensive details publicly, but confirmed that he is legally compelled to appear.Matlala’s expected testimony relates to a controversial R228 million SAPS tender awarded to him in June 2024.
