Malaysian higher education delegation to host three-day education expo in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam is set to host a major international education event from June 1 to June 3, 2026, where a high-level delegation from Malaysia will engage Tanzanian students and education stakeholders.

The delegation will include officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Education, Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), and representatives from nine leading Malaysian universities.

The event, known as the Malaysia Education Expo, aims to strengthen academic cooperation between Tanzania and Malaysia while also promoting study opportunities for Tanzanian students.

According to organisers, the expo will bring together students, parents, universities, and education institutions to explore admissions processes, scholarship opportunities, academic programmes, and research partnerships.

A 19-member Malaysian delegation will also hold strategic meetings with Tanzania’s Ministry of Education, the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), as well as local universities and schools. These discussions are expected to focus on improving bilateral cooperation in higher education and creating stronger institutional linkages.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam, education stakeholders highlighted that the expo is not only about student recruitment but also about long-term collaboration.

Areas expected to benefit include joint research projects, student and lecturer exchange programmes, innovation partnerships, and short-term professional training opportunities.

Malaysian universities such as University of Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation, and UCSI University are among those expected to participate.

The expo will also feature joint engagement sessions where both Malaysian and Tanzanian institutions will present their priorities, including 2+2 academic programmes, entrepreneurship, and innovation development.

Officials say the initiative will help Tanzanian students access global education in fields like science, engineering, information technology, health, business, and creative industries, while also strengthening quality assurance and accreditation cooperation between the two countries.
