Manika Rana, former president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Tehri Garhwal, clarified that she was not expelled from her post but was relieved of it months ago.

She emphasized that she remains a BJP member and participated in a protest against education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET paper leak controversies.

Rana stated that the reports about her expulsion were incorrect, explaining that her removal was an administrative process initiated in April or May 2026.The protest, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led to Pradhan's resignation after a 35-day agitation.CJP spokespersons demanded the withdrawal of FIRs against student protesters and warned of renewed protests if their demands were not met.

The movement gained national attention, with participation from political figures and celebrities, highlighting tensions between student activists and authorities.
