President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.officially launched the P86.9-million Benoni port light craft landing station in Mahinog, Camiguin, aimed at enhancing inter-island connectivity between Northern Mindanao and Central Visayas.The facility strengthens Camiguin's transport link to Bohol's Port of Jagna and Misamis Oriental's Port of Balingoan.

Marcos emphasized modernizing airports and seaports to meet the demands of the growing tourist industry, projecting passenger traffic at 955,327 and vehicle traffic over 155,491 by 2030.The light craft landing station provides a sheltered port for fishermen, marking Benoni's first dedicated facility for this purpose.It improves vessel movement, navigational safety, and operational efficiency by separating light craft activities from main ports.The government is also developing the Ports of Balbagon and Guinsiliban.This initiative underscores efforts to reduce transport bottlenecks and improve travel experiences for commuters and tourists.
