MotorOctane reports that Maruti Suzuki is preparing a facelifted version of the Ertiga MPV, one of India's best-selling seven-seater family vehicles.
Although the Ertiga remains popular among families and fleet operators due to its practicality, affordability, and spacious cabin, the model has received only limited updates in recent years.
The upcoming facelift is expected to refresh the vehicle's appearance with revisions to the grille, bumpers, headlights, taillights, alloy wheels, and exterior color options.
Inside the cabin, Maruti is reportedly planning more significant improvements, including a larger infotainment touchscreen, wireless phone charging, an electric sunroof, and potentially a 360-degree camera system.
While these additions may not match the extensive feature lists offered by competitors such as the Kia Carens and Carens Clavis, they would modernize the Ertiga and improve its appeal.Another notable development under consideration is an underbody-mounted CNG tank.
This setup would free up luggage space by relocating the CNG cylinder beneath the vehicle, a change that could be particularly attractive to taxi operators and commercial users. The facelifted Ertiga is expected to continue using the familiar 1.5-liter engine currently shared with other Maruti models.Pricing is projected to increase modestly by approximately Rs 25,000 to Rs 40,000 over the current on-road Mumbai price range of Rs 10.24 lakh to Rs 15.22 lakh.According to the report, the updated Ertiga is likely to reach the Indian market sometime between early and mid-2027.
