This rollout comes amid growing regulatory pressure to protect young users online, following years of expanding parental controls across Meta's apps.Parents can now view their teen's weekly usage, set daily time restrictions across devices, and block access during specific hours.Nighttime settings automatically mute notifications and enable auto-replies for teens aged 13-15.While Threads already has privacy protections like private accounts, parents can now override some defaults for users under 16.The tools are launching in the U.S.next week, with global expansion planned by year-end.

This move aligns with Meta's broader efforts to address concerns about screen time, harmful content, and teen safety, while also responding to ongoing lawsuits related to child safety on social platforms.
