The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued warnings about rain, windstorms, and thundershowers in the upper regions of the country over the weekend.Moist currents from the Arabian Sea are expected to intensify on Saturday, July 11, while a westerly wave may also approach the area.Heavy rainfall and isolated storms are predicted in regions like Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and Poonch from Friday night to Monday.Similar weather conditions are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, and other northern districts on Saturday and Sunday.Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore will also experience scattered rain and thunderstorms.The PMD has advised authorities to remain vigilant, as windstorms could damage weak structures like solar panels and billboards.Landslides are warned in vulnerable areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.Increased water flow in local streams and potential urban flooding in major cities are also highlighted.Tourists and farmers are urged to take precautions, with the department noting that hot and humid conditions may subside during the period.
