A Mexican man, Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán, died after being struck by a tractor trailer while fleeing from immigration officers in Florida.The incident occurred on July 14 when he darted across a busy road in St.Augustine, leading to his fatal collision with the vehicle.Officials confirmed he was vacationing in the U.S.on a tourist visa, having traveled from San Luis de la Paz, Mexico, to visit family and friends.His wife, Yezzika Alamilla, sought assistance from an advocacy group, Colectivo Arbol, to repatriate his remains.The Mexican consulate has been supporting her efforts, as the Department of Homeland Security has not yet confirmed his visa status.This incident marks the third fatal encounter with immigration agents in a week, following similar tragedies in Texas and Maine.
