MINI launches limited-run John Cooper Works Daredevil Edition range in South Africa

MINI has introduced a limited-edition “Daredevil” range of its John Cooper Works performance models in South Africa, expanding its performance portfolio across both internal combustion and electric vehicles.Only 44 units will be available locally, making the range highly exclusive.

The special edition spans five derivatives: the JCW Three-Door Hatch, Convertible, Countryman, Electric, and the newly introduced Aceman, all sharing a distinctive design theme.

0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 170kW and 380Nm, paired with a seven-speed Steptronic automatic transmission driving the front wheels.The hatch achieves 0–100km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the convertible completes it in 6.4 seconds.The Countryman, a more practical performance SUV, boosts output to 233kW and 400Nm, uses all-wheel drive, and completes the sprint in a claimed 5.4 seconds.MINI’s electric performance models include the JCW Electric and JCW Aceman, both producing 190kW and 350Nm.The JCW Electric reaches 100km/h in 5.9 seconds with a range of up to 400km, while the Aceman takes 6.4 seconds with a range of up to 380km.Both support DC fast charging up to 95kW, enabling a 10–80% charge in around 30 minutes.
