Major League Soccer (MLS) has launched an investigation into allegations of tampering involving Inter Miami after the club signed Brazilian midfielder Casemiro.

The 34-year-old, who previously played for Manchester United and Real Madrid, signed a contract with Inter Miami until the end of the 2027 MLS season, with an option to extend until June 2029.The probe centers on Casemiro's discovery rights, a rule that grants one club the first chance to negotiate with a player joining the league.LA Galaxy held these rights for Casemiro, but Inter Miami claims they acquired them from Galaxy before finalizing the transfer.MLS stated it is gathering all relevant information and will not comment further until the review is complete.Casemiro left Manchester United last season after his contract wasn't extended, having made 160 appearances and scored 26 goals for the club.His move to Inter Miami adds to the team's star power, which already includes Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Sergio Reguilón.

This isn't the first time Inter Miami has faced MLS scrutiny; the club was fined $2 million in 2021 for breaching roster and salary rules related to signing Blaise Matuidi.The investigation highlights the league's strict enforcement of transfer regulations to prevent unfair advantages.
