Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appointed Nandan Nilekani, a seasoned technocrat, to head a new task force for exam reforms amid growing pressure from Gen-Z activists.

The decision follows widespread protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) over issues like the NEET-UG exam leak, which forced Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign.

Nilekani, known for his role in India's Aadhaar project, has previously been part of exam-related committees, including a Supreme Court panel that investigated irregularities in the 2017 Staff Selection Commission exams.While the 2020 report concluded no systemic fraud, critics argue the recommendations were never fully implemented.Modi's move comes as the government seeks to address youth discontent over exam transparency and administrative reforms.
