A Lieutenant Colonel has been booked by Mumbai police for allegedly stalking a female colleague during the Tata Mumbai Marathon on January 18.The complaint, received via email by Kolkata Police and transferred to Azad Maidan station, alleges that the accused tried to approach the complainant while she was participating in the run.The complainant, also a Lieutenant Colonel and single mother, had previously filed complaints against the accused in Dehradun in 2025 and 2023.The accused was on bail in one case, with proceedings to cancel the bail pending.The case was registered under Section 73 of the BNS (Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005) for stalking.The complainant claims the accused uploaded images of himself with her on social media, aiming to tarnish her public image.The police confirmed the complaint's authenticity and are investigating further.This incident highlights ongoing issues of workplace harassment and the legal mechanisms to address such cases.The case underscores the importance of reporting misconduct and the legal framework to protect individuals from stalking and harassment.
