The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) have partnered to modernize asset declaration processes for public officers, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency in Nigeria's governance.
This collaboration, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), seeks to digitize the cumbersome paper-based system, which has long been plagued by administrative challenges. With over five million public servants involved, manual processing has led to delays, errors, and inefficiencies.
The partnership will deploy indigenous technological solutions to streamline asset declaration, improve data management, and ensure compliance with constitutional anti-corruption mechanisms.
NASENI's Executive Vice Chairman, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, emphasized the need for sustainable frameworks to address governance challenges, while CCB Chairman Dr.Abdullahi Usman Bello highlighted the benefits of digitization in improving accessibility and service delivery. The initiative aligns with Nigeria's broader digital economy goals, reducing reliance on imported tech and fostering local innovation.
This collaboration underscores the growing importance of technology in public administration, ensuring accountability and efficient resource management.
