Netflix Shares First Look at Live-Action 'Scooby-Doo: Origins' Series Filming in Atlanta for 2027 Premiere

Netflix has released an early first-look clip from its upcoming live-action series 'Scooby-Doo: Origins,' which is scheduled to premiere in 2027.

The footage shows the iconic Great Dane running through the woods near a summer camp, where he encounters Shaggy, marking the beginning of their famous friendship.The series is currently in production in Atlanta and represents a modern reimagining of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon.

The cast includes Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville 'Shaggy' Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake.Paul Walter Hauser will also appear in an undisclosed role.

According to the official logline, the story follows old friends Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp as they become involved in a haunting mystery involving a lost Great Dane puppy that may have witnessed a supernatural murder.

Joining them are Velma, the pragmatic and scientific local, and Freddy, the new kid in town, as they work together to solve the case while confronting their own secrets.

The series is being written and showrun by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, who are also executive producing alongside André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Adrienne Erickson through Midnight Radio.

Additional executive producers include Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Leigh London Redman via Berlanti Productions, with Toby Haynes directing the first episode and executive producing.Warner Bros.Television is handling production.This project builds on Netflix's previous first-look images of the young Mystery Inc.gang released in April.The live-action adaptation aims to blend nostalgia with contemporary storytelling for fans of the long-running franchise.

The series promises creepy adventures, supernatural elements, and the beloved dynamic of the crime-solving team that has entertained audiences for decades.
