The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has strongly condemned racist abuse directed at Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo following a theft incident at their hotel in Morocco.

The federation highlighted that the suspect, who stole cash from the team's Marriott Hotel in Casablanca, was arrested, returned the stolen money, and received a six-month prison sentence.

Despite this resolution, some users targeted Okoronkwo with racist comments and offensive emojis on social media, prompting the NFF to issue a firm statement against such behavior.

The federation emphasized that one individual's actions should not justify online abuse of any player and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the welfare of national team members during the WAFCON tournament.The Super Falcons are set to face Malawi in their opening Group C match at Al Medina Stadium, Rabat, on Tuesday night.The NFF stressed that the team remains focused on defending Nigeria's title aspirations, undeterred by distractions or online negativity.
