Nigeria Launches $110M Debt Fund for Tech Startups

The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched two debt financing funds under the iDICE Programme to support tech and creative startups.The BOI-iDICE Debt Fund offers $45 million in financing with interest rates up to 10% and repayment terms of up to five years, while the IsDB-iDICE Debt Fund provides $65 million through a Sharia-compliant model.These funds aim to address the financing gap for early-stage businesses by offering tailored solutions.

The initiative, part of a $617 million government-backed programme, involves partnerships with the African Development Bank, Agence Française de Développement, and the Islamic Development Bank.Startups can apply for funding between ₦10 million and ₦1 billion, with eligibility criteria available on the official portal.The programmes focus on scaling operations, market expansion, and infrastructure development for tech and creative enterprises.
