Nigeria’s Kamalu Bako and Sunday Olapade made notable marks at the East Africa Swing golf tournament, securing positions within the top 25.Bako finished 11th with a total of 210 strokes, earning 34.65 Order of Merit points and KES43,000 in prize money.Olapade, who started strong with a 76, rebounded with rounds of 69 and 72 to finish joint 21st on 217, claiming 23.40 points and KES29,014.The event was dominated by Kenyan golfers, with Njoroge Kibugu winning the title at 196 strokes.Kenya’s players occupied six of the top 10 spots, while Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Malawi also had strong showings.Both Nigerian athletes earned valuable points for their regional campaigns, showing promise ahead of future African golf events.

The tournament attracted 80 players from East Africa, with prizes including KES2m in total earnings and opportunities to boost rankings on the Sunshine Tour.
