Vice Ganda Encourages UP CMC Graduates to Advocate for Truth and Justice
The provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya has awarded ₱50,000 each to at least 200 couples who have reached 50 years of marriage, as part of its “Enduring Devotion” program. The initiative aims to recognise long-lasting marital unions and promote strong family values among residents.
Provincial Governor Jose Gambito emphasised that the cash incentive is not only financial assistance but also a symbolic recognition of the couples’ commitment, resilience, and contribution to community stability.
He expressed hope that these long-married couples would serve as role models for younger generations, encouraging them to build lasting relationships anchored on trust and commitment.
The beneficiaries belong to the 14th and 15th batches under the Enduring Devotion Ordinance, a program authored by former provincial board member Patricio Dumlao Jr.The ordinance institutionalises the recognition of couples who have sustained their marriages for five decades or longer.
Among those honoured were Rodrigo and Soledad Flores from Barangay La Torre Norte in Bayombong, who were recognised as the longest-married couple, having been together for an impressive 76 years.Since the program began in 2024, the provincial government has already released a total of ₱44.05 million in incentives, benefiting around 881 couples.
Officials said the initiative continues to highlight the importance of strong family foundations and aims to strengthen social cohesion by celebrating enduring partnerships.
The program has become a significant local government effort to honour senior citizens who have maintained long and stable marriages, reinforcing the value placed on family life in the province.
