OCTA Research: Filipinos Prioritize Inflation Control and Health Amid Economic Pressures

According to the Tugon ng Masa (TNM) nationwide survey by OCTA Research, inflation remains the top national priority for Filipinos in Q2 2026, despite an 8 percentage point decline from March 2026 levels. The proportion of respondents citing price control fell to 37% from 45%, yet it still ranked as the number one concern.Wage increase concerns rose slightly to 34%, making it the second most urgent issue.Fighting graft and corruption climbed to 32%, becoming the third priority, while poverty reduction dropped sharply to 12%.

The survey, conducted from July 4-11, 2026 with a ±3% margin of error, highlights persistent economic challenges alongside health and food security concerns.Personal priorities include staying healthy (65%), daily food access (47%), and financial resilience (41%).

The findings reflect ongoing public focus on cost-of-living issues and governance amid political developments like the Senate impeachment trial of VP Duterte-Carpio and rising fuel prices due to Middle East conflicts.
