BJP announces candidate changes for Bihar and Madhya Pradesh bypolls
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has accused the BJP of approaching one of his National Conference MLAs with a lucrative offer, including ₹20-30 crore cash, a ministerial position, and promises of J&K statehood to defect to the ruling party.
The MLA allegedly rejected the proposal and informed Abdullah about the approach, prompting the chief minister to condemn the BJP's tactics as undermining public trust.Abdullah criticized the party for attempting to destabilize his government through backdoor methods, warning that such moves would not succeed.The BJP swiftly denied the allegations, demanding concrete evidence and threatening legal action if Abdullah fails to substantiate his claims.BJP spokesperson RS Pathania accused Abdullah of diverting attention from governance failures by making baseless accusations.
Meanwhile, the National Conference plans a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on July 20 to demand restoration of J&K statehood, with Abdullah accusing authorities of obstructing the event.
He urged political parties to unite against the Centre's delay in granting statehood, emphasizing that the struggle is a collective cause for all citizens.
