Law enforcement in Ontario has made significant progress in combating online child exploitation, with 63 individuals arrested as part of a joint operation involving the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and 25 local police forces.The investigation, dubbed Project Time, ran from June 1 to June 30 and resulted in over 200 charges being laid.Fifty-one victims have been identified, with all accused individuals based in Ontario.Three of the arrested are under 17, two hold positions of trust in their communities, and eight are repeat offenders.OPP Detective Staff Sgt.Tara Clark emphasized the importance of collaboration and the Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Strategy in protecting children.
