Ontario man facing new stunt driving charges while awaiting trial in 2024 fatal crash case

An Ontario man who is already awaiting trial in connection with a fatal collision in Brampton is now facing additional charges related to alleged stunt driving.

The 20-year-old, from Woodstock, Ontario, is accused of driving at excessive speed during an incident in Mississauga on April 23 at approximately 1 a.m.According to police, the vehicle was observed in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Argentia Road, where officers conducted a traffic stop. The stop was carried out without incident.Authorities allege the driver was travelling at 102 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone, which led to charges of stunt driving and speeding. He is also accused of failing to surrender his driver’s licence when required and of driving a motor vehicle contrary to emissions regulations.Following the stop, police imposed an immediate 30-day driver’s licence suspension and issued a 14-day vehicle impoundment. This latest incident comes while the same individual is already before the courts for a serious earlier case.He was previously arrested and charged in relation to a fatal collision that occurred in Brampton on November 24, 2024.In that case, he faces charges of dangerous driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.He is currently awaiting trial for those offences. The new allegations add further legal complications to an already serious criminal case involving allegations of dangerous driving behaviour.

The investigation into the stunt driving incident was handled by local police, and the matter will proceed through the court system alongside the pending Brampton case.
