The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that eight suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of pupils and teachers in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State were arrested during a security operation.Some of the kidnappers were killed during the rescue mission, which was carried out without any exchange or concession to their demands.The arrested suspects are now in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Onanuga emphasized that there was no quid pro quo in the rescue, as one of the terrorists, a kingpin, who demanded the release of a detained suspect, is being prosecuted for his atrocities.Security agencies promised to provide a full account of the operation soon.The incident highlights the ongoing efforts by Nigerian security forces to combat kidnapping and ensure the safety of citizens.
