Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan engaged in high-level discussions with Turkish business leaders and Turkcell CEO Ali Taha Koç during his official visit to Istanbul.

The talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in digital infrastructure, particularly the development of a Pakistan-Turkey Digital Corridor aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and facilitating cross-border data flows.

PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of collaboration in 5G deployment, network optimization, spectrum management, and technology transfer, while inviting Turkcell to explore partnerships in local manufacturing of telecommunications equipment and digital skills development.

Turkish business groups expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic outlook and reaffirmed their interest in expanding investments across strategic sectors.The meeting also highlighted existing agreements, including three MoUs signed between the two nations on power sector collaboration.

The PM underscored Pakistan’s commitment to creating a transparent, investment-friendly environment through initiatives like the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to attract strategic investments in high-value sectors such as information and communication technologies.This partnership aims to bolster Pakistan’s technology ecosystem, generate employment opportunities, and drive sustainable growth.
