Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has been recognised for a standout moment in the 2025/26 Turkish Süper Lig season after winning the Goal of the Season award.

The Trabzonspor forward earned the honour for a spectacular bicycle kick scored in a 4-2 league victory against Fatih Karagümrük on 27 September 2025.

The goal came during a Week 7 match when Onuachu connected perfectly with a delivery from Wagner Pina before executing an acrobatic overhead finish that left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Fans voted the strike as the best of the season, beating other top contenders including goals from Beşiktaş midfielder Orkun Kökçü and Fenerbahçe attacker Marco Asensio.

This award adds to what was already an impressive campaign for the Nigerian striker, who finished the league season as joint top scorer with 22 goals alongside İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.

Onuachu also contributed two assists and enjoyed a strong scoring run, including a 10-match streak that once placed him firmly in contention for the Golden Boot outright before he was eventually caught in the final weeks of the season.

Beyond the award-winning moment, Onuachu’s overall performance further cemented his status as a key figure for Trabzonspor since first joining on loan before making a permanent move.His physical presence, finishing ability, and consistency have made him one of the most reliable forwards in the Turkish league.However, his future remains uncertain, as reports suggest interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia ahead of a possible summer transfer.For now, the striker can celebrate both individual recognition and another productive season in Europe.
