Peshawar High Court Halts Deportation of Quaid-i-Azam, Orders Appearance Before Nadra Board

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has intervened in the deportation case of a petitioner named 'Quaid-i-Azam', directing authorities to halt his removal and instead require him to appear before the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) verification board.

The court, presided over by Justices Waqar Ahmed and Inamullah Khan, was addressing a petition filed by Quaid-i-Azam against the blocking of his national identity card.

His legal counsel, Saifullah Mohib Kakakhel, argued that the petitioner is a Pakistani citizen operating a business in Dubai and Pakistan, paying taxes to the government. The blocked ID card has caused significant hardship, with authorities now demanding his uncle’s verification through Nadra.Nadra’s representative, Shahid Imran Gigiyani, stated the petitioner’s ID was flagged as suspicious. After reviewing both sides’ arguments, the court ordered Quaid-i-Azam to appear before Nadra’s board and suspended deportation until then. The case highlights bureaucratic challenges in verifying citizenship documents and the impact on individuals’ livelihoods.
