The All Pakistan Petroleum Pump Owners Association (APPPOA) has postponed its planned nationwide strike for two weeks following successful negotiations with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik.

Initially, the association had announced a strike after failed talks over daily petroleum pricing, but the government assured stakeholders that their concerns would be addressed within two weeks.

The minister highlighted that Rs100 billion had been allocated since February 28 to mitigate rising fuel prices, including a subsidy scheme for vulnerable groups.The delay in the strike reflects the government's efforts to resolve pricing disputes and stabilize the energy sector.

This development underscores the ongoing tension between fuel suppliers and authorities over cost management, with the public's interest in affordable fuel prices remaining a key priority.

The decision to defer the strike may provide temporary relief to consumers while negotiations continue, though long-term solutions to fuel price volatility remain critical for economic stability.
