Eagles trade A.J. Brown to Patriots for future draft capital, citing long-term value of first-round picks
The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade star wide receiver A.J.Brown to the New England Patriots in exchange for a first-round draft pick in 2028 and a 2027 fifth-round pick, the better of New England's two selections in that round.
The deal, which had been anticipated for months, reunites Brown with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, for whom he played early in his career with the Tennessee Titans.Brown, who turns 29 in late June, provides quarterback Drake Maye with a proven No.1 target and pairs with recent free-agent signing Romeo Doubs.
Brown has been highly productive, ranking fourth in the NFL in receiving yards and touchdowns since 2019, and holds the Eagles' single-season receiving yardage records.
